5 Announcements

Hi all,

Thank you for your interest in AnimalHack 2023! We are looking forward to seeing you (online) and learning about your projects!

We have 5 announcements for you today:

(1) To participate in AnimalHack 2023 and get qualified for its prizes, please register your project presentation by 6pm on September 9 (Sat), EST, and deliver the presentation in the afternoon of September 10 (Sun), EST.

We will send you a link for presentation registration later this month. To register your presentation, you will be required to submit:

* Your name and contact info

* Your project presentation title

* An abstract (short description) of your project

* A publicly accessible link to your project placed on a cloud-based code repository (e.g. GitHub) or hosting service (e.g. Google Drive).

(2) We will announce the schedule of your presentation (i.e. what time your presentation is planed to start) by early morning of September 10 (Sun), EST. A Zoom link will be shared with you at that time as well.

You will have 10 minutes in total for your presentation; approx 7 minutes for a talk and approx 3 minutes for QAs with judges and other participants.

(3) After all presentations are given, a panel of judges will select and announce award winners. The award announcement will be made around 3pm or maybe 4pm depending on the total number of presentations.

(4) We will publish the proceedings of AnimalHack 2023 as a book. Selected participants will be invited to extend their project abstracts and publish them in the book. The invitations will be sent out by the end of September. Currently, we plan to use the Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP).

(5) Last but not least, we just launched an online store that sells AnimalHack 2023 goods:

https://www.bonfire.com/animalhack2023/

T-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts are available now. All proceeds will be used to cover the cost of organizing AnimalHack in a sustainable manner (a subscription of Zoom, hosting of AnimalHack.org, etc.) We want to run AnimalHack annually and carry out as many post-event/spin-off projects as possible. Please support us!
